In early November, we wrote to Berkey by New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. (NMCL) to request for a donation of ceramic filters.

On December 4, we received 24 Berkey® Purification Elements from NMCL! These are much more powerful and last much longer than the ceramic filters.

Not only are they as cost-effective longer-term, the fact that they filter out viruses means water need not be boiled after filtering!

We will be bringing them to Kathmandu in two weeks to install into over 20 households and small communities, providing up to 72,000 gallons of purified water to the Nepalese in need.
