Status: Complete

Project Description: Marginalized families from the neighboring areas send their students to this school. While the school works hard to provide safe drinking water to their students during the school day, many families do not have the resources to properly clean their water for drinking when their children come home. With the help of Berkey® by NMCL, WIN provided 24 Black Berkey® Purification Elements for students to bring back to their families. Each Black Berkey® Purification Element filters bacteria and viruses without the need for boiling. The lifespan for each purification element is 3,000 gallons while the local ceramic filters can last for an average of 5 years.

Number of Beneficiaries: 96

Location: Chandragiri, Nepal
